Size Guide

Every piece of traditional Trachten is cut to fit close and worn for years. Find your measurements below and compare them to the chart for your garment. When you sit between two sizes, size up — leather and loden give a little with wear, never the other way round.

How to take your measurements

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, keeping the tape level and snug, not tight.

Hip & thigh

Stand with feet together. Measure the fullest part of the hips and the widest point of the thigh.

Chest

Run the tape under the arms and across the fullest part of the chest, tape flat across the back.

A note on units

Charts are marked CM or INCH per garment. Don’t mix the two when comparing.

Men · Leather

Lederhosen & Bundhosen

The classic short and knee-length leather breeches. Choose your size by waist first, then check the hip and thigh for a clean line over the leg.

Good to know: Men’s Lederhosen and Bundhosen share exactly the same sizing — use this chart for both.

Women · Dirndl

Dirndl & Blouse

The dirndl is fitted through the bodice and laced to adjust. Choose your size by waist and breast; the matching blouse follows the same EU sizing.

Dirndl length is made to order. Length is measured from the waist down and can be tailored to 50, 60, 70 or 80 cm — or any custom length on request. Tell us your preferred skirt length at checkout.

Bavarian Leather Belt

Belt length runs to your waist size. If you’re between sizes or wear the belt over Lederhosen, choose the larger size.

Traditional Trachten socks are knit to stretch and sit below the knee. Length is given in inches measured along the base.

Still unsure of your size? Send us your waist, hip and chest measurements and we’ll recommend the right fit — including made-to-order Dirndl lengths and any alterations. All charts are a guide; small variations of 1–2 cm are normal for handcrafted leather and wool.
